Clearly, I need to talk about the We-Vibe Shared Touch, because the box is selling it short. Officially, the We-Vibe Shared Touch is a couples vibrator, but I’m here to tell you that limiting it to couples, or even partnered play in general, is seriously underselling what this little toy can do.

One side features a soft, ridged, concave cradle designed to wrap around a penis, while the other has a sculpted tip that’s great for focused stimulation on sensitive spots like the clitoris, nipples, under the head of the penis, etc. It even has two fluttery little wings that open up more possibilities. The idea is to slip it between two bodies so everyone can enjoy the vibrations together. Sounds great, right? But that’s just scratching the surface.
I’ve spent years helping people find pleasure products that work for their bodies, relationships, and interests, and one thing I always try to remind folks is that just because a toy is marketed for a specific type of body, relationship, or activity doesn’t mean that’s the only way you can use it. Not everyone has the same anatomy, enjoys the same sensations, or approaches pleasure the same way. And that’s kind of the point! What if you and your partner have similar anatomy? Or if you’re flying solo? What if a toy’s advertising doesn’t reflect your body or how you like to play?
That’s exactly why I wanted to take a deeper dive into the Shared Touch. Between its unique shape, multiple points of stimulation, and versatile design, there’s a whole lot more going on here than your average couples vibrator.
So I came up with 17 different ways to put it to work, whether you’re exploring on your own, sharing it with a partner (or partners!), or just getting creative with what feels good. Some ideas come straight from We-Vibe, while others involve thinking a little outside the box. Pleasure products don’t have to follow gender rules, relationship rules, or even the instructions on the packaging. The best way to use a toy is the way that works for your body.

The ones on the box
1. The between-bodies grind. This is the classic. Missionary, nothing inside anyone, just the Shared Touch sandwiched between your pelvises: ridged side toward the penis, sculpted tip toward the clit. Grind slow. It’s the toy’s whole reason for existing, and it’s a great one.
2. Wing tease. Before anything gets near anyone’s genitals, run the fluttery wings over necks, inner thighs, nipples and the backs of knees. Start on the lowest setting. Anticipation is the most underrated sex toy there is.
3. Bath or shower time. It’s IPX7, so it can go fully underwater. Use it as a sexy little bath companion, or pass it back and forth while you share a shower.

Outercourse (all the fun, no penetration)
4. The thigh sandwich. Spoon on your sides. The partner in back slides their penis between their partner’s closed thighs, which is a thing called intercrural sex. Tuck the Shared Touch in front, ridged side against the shaft and sculpted tip against the clit. Everything glides through a buzzing tunnel. It’s my favorite answer to “we want something that feels like sex but isn’t.”
5. Dry-hump date night. Leave your underwear on and grind through it. Vibration travels through thin fabric beautifully, and there’s something very high-school-basement about it. It’s perfect for nights when you’re tired, on your period, or just not in a penetration mood.

6. Cowgirl without the in-and-out. The partner on top straddles and grinds down on the toy, which rests on their partner’s lower belly. The person on top controls the pressure, the angle and the pace. The person underneath gets a front-row seat.
It’s not just for penis-plus-vulva couples
7. Vulva to vulva. Scissor or grind with the Shared Touch between you. One person gets the sculpted tip, and the other grinds against the ridged, concave side, which feels amazing pressed against labia and a clit. You don’t need a penis to enjoy a cradle.
8. Penis to penis. Lie face to face and press both shafts into the ridged side together, or put the cradle against one shaft and let the wings buzz against the other. It’s frotting with a soundtrack.
9. For T-dicks. If you’re on testosterone and your bottom growth likes direct, broad stimulation, the concave side can cradle it just like it’s designed to cradle a penis. Try the low settings first. Every body is different.
Solo, because “couples toy” doesn’t mean you need a couple
10. The pillow ride. Put a firm pillow down, set the Shared Touch on it sculpted-tip-up, and straddle it. It turns into a hands-free grinding toy. If you’ve been eyeing our humping toys, this is your gateway.
11. Hands-free stroke helper. If you have a penis, hold the ridged cradle under the head and frenulum and stroke with your other hand. You get vibration exactly where most people are most sensitive, without balancing a bullet vibe.
12. No erection required. The cradle works on a soft penis too. That makes it a great toy for anyone dealing with ED, medication side effects or recovery, or who just likes pleasure that doesn’t depend on getting hard first.
Partner play beyond the grind
13. Oral upgrade. Giving head? Hold the ridged side against the base of the shaft, the balls or the perineum while your mouth does the rest. Going down on a vulva? Rest the sculpted tip just above the clit while your tongue works lower.
14. The giver’s reward. While you go down on your partner, wedge the Shared Touch tip-up on a pillow under your own hips. Now the person giving oral is getting something too. It’s very good for stamina.
15. The control game. (Only if your model has app control.) One partner holds the phone and runs the patterns, and the other doesn’t get a say. Add a blindfold, and every change of rhythm becomes a surprise.
16. Long-distance tease. (Also app-dependent.) If the app supports remote control, your partner can run the toy while you use one of the solo ideas above, from anywhere. For more ideas, see my long-distance toy picks.
The wind-down
17. Aftercare buzz. Turn it to the lowest setting and rest it on a lower back, a belly or the space between shoulder blades while you cuddle. A gentle hum after big sensation helps a body settle. Not every use has to end in an orgasm.
Care and safety
- External use only. It isn’t designed to go inside anyone.
- Water-based or hybrid lube only. Silicone lube can damage silicone toys, and oils and massage oils can damage the finish. For massage-style uses, pick a water-based massage gel. Here are my lube picks.
- Wash between bodies if you’re switching partners or going from one person’s genitals to another’s, and especially after anything near the anus.
- Make sure the charging port is dry before you plug it in.
